Why do I need icubackup.com?

Icubackup offers storage which is always there and always available. You never lose a file with icubackup it's impossible. And no file on icubackup is ever beyond your reach.

How much storage space do I get?

Business and free accounts come with different space allocations - check the product pages for more information.

You can get more space by purchasing upgrades for your account. There is no limit to the amount of space you can add - we have a cluster of servers big enough to deal with an incredible volume of data and our server system is highly scalable

How secure are my files?

Encryption:

Data and user authentication info is transmitted over the internet and store in encrypted form. You have the option of using the encryption key (known only to you). Or just a username and password, We recommend you use the encryption key option for added security.

Physical security:

Icubackup application is hosted at a world class Data centre in the UK, just outside the M25. Our Data centre offers: state-of-the-art smoke detection and fire suppression systems, motion sensors, 24 X 7 secured access, video camera surveillance and security breach alarms.

Top level security:

we take security very seriously indeed. Our data centres are located within secure compounds with 3-metre fencing and electric entry .

Entry to the buildings is via 24/7 swipe card systems, with 6-layer entry and 24/7 on-site Security.

Network Security:

We have a periodic third party review of our network infrastructure to check for known application and service vulnerabilities.

Double Backups:

User data resides on raid protected industry leading storage devices with multiple levels of redundancy. In addition, data is periodically backed up onto another set of devices for additional security.

How can you offer free storage? What is your business plan?

We offer premium upgrades which you can purchase to increase the capacity and capabilities of our standard free account. There is no obligation to purchase a premium upgrade, customers who don't want or need the premium services can continue to enjoy our service, free of charge.

Can people at icubackup see my files?

No we cannot view your files as they are stored in a encypited format that you hold the encrytion key and no passwords are stored since we cannot login as you (because we don't store your password only a checksum of it)

Who owns Icubackup

Icubackup is owned by 24hrdigitalvault.ltd.

What happens to my data if you guys disappear/go out of business?

We have no intention of disappearing and it's certainly not on the cards for the foreseeable future as we are a well funded stable company.

Will use of the service count towards the usage limit on my broadband/Internet connection?

If you upload or download to or from your online storage space using your broadband connection, the data transferred will count towards any transfer limit you have with your broadband package.

How long do you keep my files for?

As long as you want - there is no limit.

Application questions

How do I take an immediate backup of my data?

Select the desired files / folders / drives by clicking on the +/ and select what you want to backup then click add to backup list or drop and drag into the backup list area/ then just click backup tab . your backup will start to backup.

How do I schedule a backup?

Select the desired files / folders / drives by clicking on the +/ and select what you want to backup then click add to backup list / then just click schedule tab/ and select the day and time/name your backup/ create/ your schedule backup wil then take place on your selected times.

Email Notification

This option allows you to receive email notifications on the status of the scheduled backup jobs. For this, select the tools/ prefrences/ input your email address’s and select notify of schedule backup succes or failure . you will receive a notification email on all schedule backups that take place.

Can I backup Mapped / USB / External drives?

Yes, you can backup Mapped / USB / External Drives. The contents to be backed up must be a part of the Backup set and available at the time of backup.

I am unable to open my Outlook email client during the backup of my Outlook pst files. I get an error that indicates that the file may be in use. Why?

For Windows XP, Windows 2003 server and Windows Vista machines, the above issue should not arise.

However, for other Windows OS, the ICUBackup agent might lock your Outlook email client to perform a successful backup. To resolve the issue, close your MS Outlook email client before initiating the operation.

Will my scheduled backup continue in case of sudden system reboot?

Yes. The scheduled backup that was in progress would automatically continue once you restart the computer.

Do I need to restart my computer after installing ICUbackup?

There is no need to restart your computer after ICUBackup has been installed.

How do I restore the latest version of a file?

To restore the latest version of any file, click the 'Restore' tab. A list of files along with their latest versions is displayed. Select the required files and click the 'Restore' button.

After selecting the files, choose the restore destination on your local computer.

How do I delete data from my account?

To delete a particular file / folder from your ICUBackup account, go to the 'Restore' tab. Select the file / folder to be deleted and click the 'Delete' icon on the toolbar.

What is the Sync feature and how does it work?

This feature lets you sync data between your PC and online account. This is a useful option if you have removed files and folders from your computer and wish to do the same automatically from your account.

To sync data, select the folder(s) / drive(s) in your online account that you wish to bring in line with your computer and click the 'Sync' icon. Files deleted from your local computer but available in your ICUBackup account, are listed. Click 'Sync' to remove them.

Note: This may result in automatic deletion of data from your ICUbackup account. Set this option carefully.

Billing related Questions

How do I view the billing and invoice information related to my main account?

Login to your ICUBackup account and click the 'Billing Report' link to view a summary of your transactions. Click the 'Invoice' link to see the invoice of each transaction.

How do I upgrade from a free account to a paid account / higher plan?

You can upgrade your account from the Basic to the Pro Plan or from a monthly or yearly Pro Plan to a higher plan. To upgrade, login to your ICUBackup account and click the 'Upgrade Account' icon. Select the plan of your choice and click the 'Upgrade Now' button.

The credit card that I had used to sign up for an ICUBackup account has expired and I have outstanding payments towards my account. What should I do?

Login to your ICUBackup account. On the main page of your account, click the 'Edit Credit Card' icon and enter your credit card details afresh.

Click the 'Update my card details' button to complete the process followed by the 'Apply Pending Charges' button to settle the dues towards your ICUbackup account.

Is my money refunded in case I cancel my account?

Yes. Refund for monthly subscription is issued on a pro-rated basis.

When you cancel an annual subscription to ICUBackup before its term, refunds are issued on a pro-rated basis, calculated as per the subscription charges of the corresponding monthly plan for the number of days the account was used (the number of days between the most recent yearly charges and the cancelation date). If the amount exceeds the cost of subscription, then no refund is issued.
